Actually I did attend that show.

The only thing I was left with was the desire for my $20 back.

The (Mills) show was hyped up by advertising that Mills would be on 4 turntables. I only saw 3 set-up, and I never once saw mixing more than 2 at a time.

His music seemed stale. Just because you’re an originator of techno doesn’t mean you can just play old sets.

He did not engage with the crowd, he seemed like he was masterbating on stage. It was weird too, because the crowd seemed so into it.

Now Marc Houle’s show at Esko on Feb. 23. I would regard that set as one of the finest. Anyone else agree?

actually, that IS the show that I attended and I concur…i would rather swallow broken glass then waste 20 bucks on some burned out hasbeen of a DJ. If i want to hear hits from the 90’s poorly mixed I can turn on internet radio or watch some noobie play his brother’s old dollar techno. The show was a total snooze fest and Mills didn’t look like he gave a fuck about the crowd. He’s the wizard alright, until you look behind the curtain.

You obviously did not attend the Jeff Mills show at 5th Ave. Many people considered that the finest show they had seen in YEARS by anyone.
