Phat fingered beats
April 27, 2007
Add some human to your loops with this touchscreen MIDI controller.
The video offers a decent demonstration of the capabilities of the device (the song isn’t half bad either.)
The artist really adds a LIVE element to electronic music and isn’t just triggering beats with the device. Rather, He’s actually constructing the composition in real-time.
I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these devices, but unfortunately it’s going to put a HUGE dent in my wallet. The unit retails for around $2,600 USD and will probably stay that way for a while.
If you’re interested in buying me one, you can check out Cycling’74.com for more details. It’s a good thing I can use the Nintendo DS to trigger my loops for now.
